Meet the Build That Doesn't Ask for Attention - It Commands It
There are modified cars. Then there are built cars. The kind that make experienced enthusiasts stop mid-sentence, walk over, and say nothing - because nothing needs to be said.
@2rets_racing's Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution CT9A is the second kind.
Owner Luke, based in Melbourne, Victoria is the owner of this wild CT9A. With a strong background in racing, Luke had the opportunity to purchase this vehicle from Sydney. 2RETS, one of the big hitter builds that came out of the Mick's Motorsport stables who are no strangers to the 4G63 platform. Many of Australia's fastest 4G's have come out of Mick's Motorsport, seeing consistent success on the Roll and Drag Racing strips. a clear vision, executed without compromise.

The Build
The CT9A generation — spanning the Evo VII, VIII, and IX — is widely considered the purest expression of the Lancer Evolution formula. A 4G63 engine that responds to boost like it was born for it, AWD that feels almost telepathic, and a body that looks aggressive without trying. It's a platform that rewards the builder who knows exactly what they're doing.

Where Carbon Street Comes In

When it came time to finish the front end, @2rets_racing needed something that matched the standard of everything else on the car. The stock front bumper treatment was fine — for a stock car. This needed more.
Our Varis Style Carbon Fibre Front Lip for the Evo CT9A is handcrafted using a 2x2 twill carbon weave, finished in high-gloss gel coat. It's designed to sit flush with the factory bumper with no cutting, no filing, no compromise. The result is an OEM+ look - something that feels like Mitsubishi should have done it this way from the factory.

But the real statement piece? The Carbon Street Voltex-style Carbon Fibre Bonnet - full carbon weave with our optional 2K clear coat upgrade.
Most carbon bonnets look perfect for about 12 months. Then the Australian sun does its work — the standard gel coat starts yellowing, the gloss fades, and suddenly your $1,500 bonnet looks like it's been sitting outside for a decade.
The 2K clear coat costs extra, but when you're building a car to this standard, you don't want to be replacing your bonnet in 18 months. The upgrade pays for itself.
On @2rets_racing's build, against the CT9A Apex Silver Paint Job, the carbon reads almost like a signature. The bonnet and lip work together to ground the front end, giving it weight and intention, leaving an aggressive, lasting impression.
Why This Build Matters to Us
Carbon Street didn't start as a catalogue business. It started because two mates who genuinely cared about these cars couldn't find parts that matched what they had in their heads. We were tired of carbon that looked cheap up close, or lips that needed a week of tinkering to sit properly.
@2rets_racing's build is exactly why we started offering the 2K clear coat upgrade.
When you're investing this much time, effort, and money into a build — when every other component is chosen with intention — your carbon shouldn't be the thing that needs replacing in 18 months.
We're transparent about it: Our standard finish is gel coat, like everyone else. But we give you the choice to upgrade — because builds like this deserve parts that last.

Seeing a build like @2rets_racing's is exactly why we do this. These cars deserve parts as considered as the build itself.
