Carbon Street didn’t start as a corporate business venture.

It started as two mates in a garage, greasy hands, working on our RX7s. We were forver chasing the elusive look of an OEM+ aesthetic - making sure not too compromise the look Mazda intended.

When you look at a Mazda RX7 FD3s, the iconic front end captures the attention of all. It's arguably one of the most beautifully designed Japanese sports cars ever built. 

But there’s one issue every FD owner eventually faces:

The Problem: The Infamous 2-Piece Lip Sag

The factory Mazda 2-piece front lip was designed in the early 90s. Decades later, heat, road debris, and the weight of the front bar cause the OEM plastic to warp.

If you’ve installed a front mount intercooler (FMIC), you know the struggle: constant trimming and refitting weakens the bar’s structural integrity. This leads to the dreaded "center split"—a visible, ugly gap right in the middle of your car’s face.

This split causes:

• Visible panel misalignment.

• Structural "flutter" at high speeds.

• An "incomplete" look that ruins the FD’s iconic flow.
